Protecting plants and garden beds from cats and dogs

Loose soil is a litter box to a cat and a digging pit to a dog. Cover it with something they don't want to stand on.

Pots indoors

Small 8 × 6 inch squares lie on top of the soil; cut a slot so they wrap around the stem. Water goes straight through.

Beds and lawns

Full-size panels between rows, held with the garden staples through the corner holes. Seeds grow up between the spikes.

Along fences

Strips or the 13 ft roll along the bottom of a fence stop digging under it and walking along the top.
